Congrats to The newest grantees of our artist-to-artist mutual aid initiative: United Still!

In our last campaign, we awarded over $37,500 to artists on the South Side of Chicago

Why We DID THAT

To keep that same energy…We know firsthand that there are many creatives, particularly Black and Brown creatives in Chicago who have concepts and projects that rarely get amplified, or those artists just don't know how to unlock capital to support their ideas. We at EAC intend to keep the same energy from our guerilla-style micro grant we did in June of 2020 (where we personally dropped small funds into other artists’ CashApps) and connect with even more South Side creatives—>The ultimate goal? To help at least 10+ of them—particularly young adults or those who might be considered "new" or "just starting out"— develop projects that specifically drive constructive civic interactions, and/or activates and inspires positive change via community engagement/organizing or placemaking— thusly improving the quality of life for locals. We aim to utilize our $3500 per artist awards as an illumination point, promoting their concepts not just as an investment in a valuable public resource—our artists—but reinforcing a net of support as seeds for future development of their work and/or new works to come.
