"Creating, Exposing, and using my sculptures as a teaching tool for my community brings me joy"

JoVonna Jackson is a mosaic, ceramic muralist, and knitter from Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Her works include medium-sized indoor and large-size outdoor mosaic creations to medium-sized ceramic sculptures and handmade ceramic jewelry. The content of her pieces varies from abstract to nature to love and relationships and increasing self-love and peace. Some of her public art is located in Millennium Park, titled "Lily a day" and her most current work resides at Hamilton Park Cultural Center. JoVonna recently completed a residency at Hamilton Park cultural center where ceramic and mosaic workshops held for the community to come and participate. Her goal is to continue this practice for the community to continue to have these Outlets.
